Seasonal help needed on Montana family ranch. Earn an income while having a flexible schedule, allowing time to explore Montana. Housing provided for either a single employee or a couple.
Housing and utilities provided in an idyllic setting with a stone cottage along a small creek. Good quality fiber optic Internet access affords an opportunity for a spouse to work remotely. The ranch is 25 miles from Great Falls, which is easily accessible for supplies and groceries. We do not provide a meal service.
Duties include: grounds-keeping including mowing and weed trimming, debris cleanup throughout the ranch, landscaping projects, building and equipment cleanup, rock picking, painting out-buildings, noxious weed spraying, and more. Duties may also include help with general ranch work depending on employee’s experience and skill level.
This is a good opportunity for a retired farmer or rancher who is looking for work experiences that offer a wage and a shorter work week. The work is menial and requires hand labor, but offers opportunities for time-off to discover and enjoy Montana.
Requirements:
- Smoke, vape, and drug free
- honest and trustworthy
- clean and organized
- willing to comply with employer pet policy
- able to follow safety protocols
- willing to assume additional duties as assigned
- competent communication skills
- a good attitude and the ability to develop positive relationships with fellow employees
- the ability to recognize when equipment is in need of servicing and will notify ranch management when necessary maintenance is required
- the skill to use a chain saw or the ability to learn to use equipment
- a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
- legal age limit to work in agriculture
Salary is hourly and paid bi-monthly or monthly and will be negotiated based on experience. The season of work is flexible but would typically run from mid-May to August.
