We are in search of a 2 individuals to run our kitchen this summer season at our off-grid fly-fishing lodge. Our days are lively, and the staff feels like family. We are a live-on-site location. Housing and meals provided. Perched above the Spotted Bear River your office view is amazing. With that comes some off grid getting used to. We are 53 miles down a gravel road from the closest town. Completely off grid and powered by generator and propane. Power is off at night only wifi in the lodge.  We make a once a week run to town to restock.  We serve a pretty set weekly menu and then offer burgers and bratwurst to the public for walk ins.  The position is required to feed all staff and all guests.  Good attitude and team player is an Absolute MUST. We all live and work together!

Since we are such an isolated restaurant/lodge the meals to be worthy of a 53-mile drive yet simple enough that last minute changes can be made in case of changes.  Each night has a set meal which can be altered to the chef’s choice. We also serve Prime Rib every Saturday night. Usually preparing 2-3 ribs each weekend.

Season Dates from May 15, 2026- Oct 1, 2026 (flexible on the end date)

• Daily Schedule:
  • The day begins at 5:30 AM with coffee and breakfast preparation.
  • Staff breakfast ready by 7 am
  • Breakfast is served from 7-9 to all in-house guests
  • Kitchen clean up
  • Enjoy downtime from 10 AM to 2 PM.
  • The lodge opens to the public for dinner and drinks from 3 PM to 9 PM, where we serve nightly dinner specials and hamburgers to walk-in customers.
  • We serve a nightly house special and then offer burgers or brats to walk-ins
• Responsibilities:
  • Two kitchen staff members will oversee all kitchen operations, including:
    • Menu planning
    • Food ordering
    • Cooking
    • Plating
    • Clean-up/dishes

The workday usually wraps up by 10 PM. While the days can be long and demanding, we work together as a team.

In need of 2 people to fill the position. Can hire a team or 2 separate individuals. Duties will be shared and divided based on individual preferences. Each cook gives the other one one day off per week to handle the kitchen independently.

Note: * Private living quarters are provided, but there is no bathroom available in the cabin.  ( No air conditioning)
