Neff Livestock and Equipment Co
In search of Shop Mechanic with Ranch Experience
Looking for someone who is clean, reliable, a good communicator, hardworking, self-motivated, adaptive and has a positive attitude. Experience in mechanic work is a big plus, but I am willing to train the right candidate.
Job description: We have a small farm implement business and a 300 head cow/calf operation in a fairly remote valley in Elko County, NV. It is 50 miles to the nearest town. This job is mostly mechanic work, but will also include other aspects of running a small business like occasionally helping customers, answering the phone, creating invoices for the work you have done, etc.
The reason this ad is here is we also help out with the ranch work on occasion — it’s pretty much 80% shop/20% ranch. We might be working at the chute one day and repairing a tractor that afternoon. The mechanic work is mostly haying equipment, but we don’t turn many jobs away. We also do field service work, especially during the haying season.
Speaking of haying season, this is a full time job, but during the summer it is six days a week and long hours. If you can handle that for about three months out of the year, we try to reward you with flexibility and fewer hours in the fall and winter.
We have a brand new shop to work in. We provide housing, utilities, groceries, and fuel. If you are a good fit, we will provide health insurance after three months. If you are committed and thinking long term, there is room to grow with the business. Salary depends on experience and ability. If you enjoy rural life, we are in a great location with a great community.
If interested please respond with summary of yourself, background/experience, qualifications and resume with contact info.
