About the Club

Founded in 1895, the Beaver Run Hunting and Fishing Club is a family-oriented outdoor sporting club located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Our 950-acre property features a mile-long lake, ten trout pools, a two‑acre trout pond, a fly‑fishing pool, and trap and target ranges. The Club is bordered on three sides by the 83,000-acre Delaware State Forest.

Facilities include a 14‑bedroom clubhouse accommodating 36 people, a four‑bed cabin, 30 boathouses, and multiple supporting outbuildings. The Club’s membership is deeply committed to the conservation and stewardship of fish, wildlife, and forests.

Position Overview

We are seeking a two‑person team responsible for meal preparation, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and property security. This is a live‑in role offering a competitive compensation and benefits package, including onsite housing, paid utilities, health insurance, and hunting and fishing privileges. The stewards report to the Club Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping, including making beds, cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas including removing trash, and restocking janitorial supplies.
  • Perform semiannual detail cleaning of all clubhouse interior spaces.
  • Manage member reservations and maintain the club’s online reservations calendar.
  • Plan menus, purchase food and supplies, and prepare meals for members and guests.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in accordance with Pennsylvania state health regulations.
  • Provide hospitality‑focused service to ensure an exceptional member/guest experience.
  • Monitor and patrol the property to maintain a secure environment and deter trespassing.
  • Perform groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, trimming, and pruning
  • Maintain club landscaping equipment, including tractor, chainsaws, and wood splitters.
  • Gather, split, and stack firewood to maintain adequate supply.
  • Assist with wildlife food plot maintenance.
  • Coordinate appointments with contracted service providers.
  • Assist members during annual spring and fall workdays.
  • Address basic property maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventories.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in large‑property caretaking, hospitality, food service, or lodging operations; experience cooking for groups preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and email).
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and self‑directed, with the ability to work independently.
  • Respect for natural resources and wildlife conservation.
  • Experience operating and maintaining landscaping equipment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, email).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to undergo a full background check, credit check, and drug screening.
