Searching for Assistant Cook/Bakers at the 7D Ranch

The 7D Ranch is located in the remote & beautiful Sunlight Basin, deep within the Shoshone National Forest, about 50 miles northwest of Cody, Wyoming. We have a horse herd of around 100 animals, and a capacity of 33 guests. The ranch provides a scenic mountain valley location for those whose priorities include riding, fishing, hiking, relaxation and wilderness beauty. We specialize in family vacations, including riding for the entire family and a non-stop activity program for the children.

The 7D Ranch has been in operation by the Dominick family since 1958 and to this day has a strong commitment to hospitality and the western way of life. We look for staff members that are dedicated to sharing this hospitality and lifestyle with our guests.

Assistant Cook/Baker will…

Assist the Head Cook in the food preparation area, preparing meals for approximately 60 people. Act in place of the Head Cook as needed; responsible for the running of the kitchen on the Head Cook’s day off and may be responsible for specific meals and/or parts of any given meal. Responsible for putting out homemade baked goods with each meal for our guests and staff. With breakfast, usually a muffin or scone, lunch is usually a cookie or bar, dinner is a bread or roll followed by desert. We also have a cookie jar for guests that we keep filled with cookies. Assist with the menu to come up with baked goods and deserts that fit the theme (Taco Tuesday, BBQ, Italian, ect). Provides cooperative assistance to the Head Cook to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the kitchen, both as a team and on days off. All kitchen staff are expected to share in the dish washing responsibilities. The assistant must also maintain hygienic standards with proper food handling, cooling and storage. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Candidates must be able start mid-May and work through the end of our season (mid-September). The Assistant Cook/Baker position typically works 50-60 hours over five and a half days.
