Hawkeye Hunting Club, an East Texas upland bird hunting destination entering our 71st year of operation, is looking for a cook to join our team. We will consider both seasonal and full-time applicants. Our typical hunting season is October through March, with limited cooking needed in the off season as well. Due to our custom guest schedules, cooking is not a full-time job for any one of our cooks. Therefore, a successful candidate should be well-versed in the operation of a commercial kitchen and able to feed groups of guests from 2 – 20 people. They should also be willing and able to work in other roles on the hospitality or outdoor operations side of the business when not cooking. We have a full recipe book of traditional, yet elevated, Southern fare that any experienced cook will easily follow to complete a successful meal. Our kitchens are fully equipped, and all cooks have assistance on meals from the hospitality team and will be provided training and oversight by our Hospitality Manager.

While proven experience as a cook is required, this is not a position suited for a full-time Chef. Our team succeeds utilizing cooperation and versatility and each member of our hospitality staff and outdoor staff fills multiple roles depending on seasonal needs. Flexibility and the willingness to learn new tasks and skills is a must. Pay will be commensurate with experience and guest tips are also significant.
