Fantasy Island is a gorgeous 30 acre ranch located in the heart of Central Vermont. We have many animals ranging from beautiful pheasants, chickens, ducks and peacocks to mini cows, alpacas, llamas, goats, and a wide variety of horses with so many more in between. We take pride in providing the best care for the land and our animals throughout the year in all the seasons. The ranch is a family retreat as well as a working Airbnb, film location, and social event grounds. We are continuously expanding; adding more attractions to the property and more animals to the pack! We hope to find a person(s) that is just as passionate as we are about the vision for the ranch and looking to improve it each day.

Looking for a Property Manager/Caretaker(s) to oversee and execute the daily operations and tasks of the property.

Full-time, live-in property caretaker position caring for a 30-acre ranch. Housing includes a spacious 2 bed/1 bath guest house with a wrap around covered porch. The owners are long term employers who use the residence on the property throughout the year for leisure, business, social and family events.

MUST have a general knowledge of basic ranch tasks and farm animal care. MUST have experience with caring for horses. MUST be able to operate farm equipment and machinery. Team/driving and husbandry experience is a PLUS. You will provide ongoing maintenance, repair, remodeling and care of the property as well as feeding and taking care of all the animals daily.

You will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Mowing Lawns
  • Gardening
  • Painting
  • Cleaning of Main House/Guest House
  • Guest Interactions
  • Cleaning/Maintaining Animal Corrals
  • Feeding/Taking Care of Animals
  • Riding/Training the Horses
  • Building/Repairing Buildings on Property
  • Building/Repairing Fencing
  • Cleaning Garage Buildings and Barns
  • Snow Removal in Winter Months
  • Basic Plumbing and Electrical Repairs
  • Enforce Rules and Regulations
  • Perform Equipment Maintenance
  • Diagnose Problems and Contact the Appropriate Vendor(s)

**The Caretaker(s) must be mechanically inclined and experienced in mechanical repairs (i.e. small engines), handyman repair work and lawn/outdoor land maintenance. You will update the buildings on the property (renovation work) and will complete these projects yourself. We expect you to contract out when needed (e.g. electrical, plumbing work). You will also be engaging directly with Airbnb guests when they are staying on the property. Must have a knowledge of horse and animal care, as well as riding and training.**

Candidate must be a self-starter with great attention to detail. The caretaker must be aware of their limitations and meticulous in their actions to avoid causing larger issues. This property is seeking a long-term caretaker that can step into these tasks and keep the place running. This is a full-time, year round, lifestyle position, not a 9-5 job.
