Seeking an experienced, dependable couple to live on and care for a private 2,500-acre mountain ranch near Helper, Utah. Situated at approximately 8,000 feet, the property includes two homes and opportunities for hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. An exceptionally qualified individual will also be considered.
Ranch Maintenance & Management
The primary caretaker must be mechanically skilled, meticulous, physically capable, and able to plan and complete work independently. Responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining snowplows, snowcats, skid steers, excavators, and other ranch equipment.
- Carpentry, general repairs, light plumbing and electrical work, tree removal, and property maintenance.
- Routine servicing and oil changes for ATVs, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and equipment.
- Planning projects, managing budgets, obtaining and negotiating competitive bids, and hiring and supervising subcontractors and vendors.
- Maintaining wells, water supplies, and electrical and solar systems, with willingness to learn unfamiliar systems.
- Assisting with animal care; horse experience strongly preferred.
Construction, heavy equipment, forestry, or timber experience is highly desirable. Sound judgment, safe firearm handling, and familiarity with shooting-range setup are valued.
Housekeeping & Household Care
The second position includes cleaning and caring for both homes: making beds, laundering and changing linens, vacuuming, mopping, preparing homes for arrivals, and assisting with ranch tasks as needed.
Language
Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome. English does not need to be your first language, provided you can communicate effectively in English for daily responsibilities, safety, and coordination with vendors and contractors.
Compensation & Housing
This is a full-time, live-in position with housing included. Annual compensation ranges from $75,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
