Under the direction of the Residential Property Manager, the Property and Grounds Employee will be responsible for upkeep of a private residence, adjacent facilities, and surrounding land ensuring that the properties are always maintained to the highest possible standards and operating conditions. This employee will provide high level support, including the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. This is a “live out” position (no housing provided).

Employment will be “at will.” The Property and Grounds Employee is part-time (under 30 hours).

DUTIES OF EMPLOYEE (shall include but not be limited to):

  • Outdoor Maintenance: including cleaning and maintaining outdoor living and parking spaces, exterior lighting, care of plants and trees, maintain and clean fountains and filters, maintain all walking paths and trails including spreading mulch/rocks in summer and keeping clear of snow in winter.
  • Pool operation and maintenance: including start up in spring and winterizing prior to winter. When pool is open for use, daily maintenance including checking and maintaining chemical levels, temperature, and any other regular maintenance.
  • Animal care: assisting with care for dogs and chickens which includes feeding, veterinarian/grooming appointments, and cleanup after the animals. Fill water containers on property for wildlife.
  • Home Interior: perform and oversee work as assigned by the Residential Property Manager including replacing light bulbs, general maintenance, and assisting with upkeep as needed.
  • Motor pool: Clean, maintain, and assist with servicing motor vehicles and off-road vehicles, including filling gas tanks and charging of electric vehicles.
  • Deliveries: Run errands and accept deliveries as assigned.
  • Communication: Promptly and proactively communicate with the Residential Property Manager during emergencies, including severe weather events, and all matters involving security and safety at the property.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Employer.

  • Knowledge of and able to operate heavy equipment
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of construction and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of machines and tools commonly used, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner along with a commitment to creating a positive culture. Experience and success with managing a small team is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, plan, prioritize, organize and complete work to meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
  • Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding. To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to regularly walk, stand, kneel, bend, stretch, and twist.
