Circle G Ranches is a half century Angus seedstock operation based in Adel, Georgia.

We are currently looking to fill the position of Cattle Manager that can add value to our operation in providing proper care and attention to our cattle and facilities. The Cattle Manager will work directly under the supervision of our General Manager and be expected to perform a variety of tasks throughout the year including, but not limited to:

  • Supervision of employees including scheduling workdays, weekend rotations, and holidays. Ensure tasks are being completed properly and on time.
  • Planning and management of calving and breeding seasons.
  • This will include using palpation data to establish calving groups, scheduling AI synch protocols for heifers and cows for each calving season and coordinating the synchronization of Donors & recips for Embryo Transfer.
  • Administration of routine vaccinations & health treatments that align with the current Herd Health Protocol.
  • Data entry into our record keeping software to include calving, breeding, treatments, pasture movements, etc.
  • Provide monthly inventory reports to the General Manager.
  • Annual bull and female sale preparation. This will include preparing the facilities and the cattle for sale such as clipping sale cattle, coordinating picture and video days, construction of display pens, cleaning of facilities and set up for sales.
  • Nutritional oversight of the cattle herd. Work with the General
  • Manager and our nutritionists to evaluate cattle performance and condition throughout the year. This will also include pasture management such as fertilization and herbicide applications.
  • Bull development. Measure performance and feed intake on bulls throughout their development. Monitor for health related issues and give proper care as needed. Plan and schedule workdays for Breeding Soundness Exams along with routine health procedures.
  • Cattle facility maintenance and upkeep. Ensure working facilities are kept clean after use and are always presentable.
  • Trucks, trailers, feeding equipment, and tractors should be serviced on a regular schedule.

The ideal candidate needs to be able to work independently as well as with a team.

In addition, the candidate must have a strong work ethic and understand that work will be required on weekends and sometimes holidays during calving and breeding season. Individual must have at least 5 years’ experience working in a purebred cattle operation and be proficient in Artificial Insemination. Experience & knowledge of synchronization protocols related to AI and Embryo Transfer is also required.

Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
