Job Description:
The Ranch Hand and Ranch Home Caretakers will be responsible to maintain and enhance our ranch and home located in Heber City Utah. Ideally this is a couple who will live on site in our 2-bedroom apartment. The couple will take care of the cleaning and basic maintenance of the home and ranch and equipment. If we hire only one individual the home cleaning would not be expected. This individual will be tending to the livestock which will include but not limited to feeding, pasturing, and herding.
This ranch is made up of 90 total acres. 30 acres where the home, barn, horse pastures and hay fields are located and 60 acres 2 miles away where there are 2 trout ponds, grazing pastures and an additional barn and equipment.
Examples of Job Duties:
- Daily feeding of all animals
- Riding the horses each week
- Keeping tack in good condition
- Irrigation, lawn and yard maintenance,
- Operating and maintaining agricultural machinery
- Maintenance of cars and equipment
- Keep the property and equipment clean and in good condition
- Performing other duties as assigned by the owner
Qualifications; Must Have:
- Good communication skills
- Exceptional time management
- Experience handling cattle and other livestock
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Be able to work in inclement weather both cold and hot
- Consistent Hard Worker and reliable
- Takes Initiative (don’t wait to be told what to do)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Required to work in an outdoor environment – Regularly
- Required to stand and walk – constantly
- Required to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
