Ranch Manager/Caretaker/Cook
Looking for a couple to manage a 100+ acre ranch in Teton Valley, ID to act as caretaker, cook, housecleaner, manager of three homes on property which consists of a main house, guest house and caretaker residence. They will also be responsible for managing a mini storage small business.
- Care for horses and chickens on property.
- Providing house cleaning and maintenance on a regular basis; and providing periodic help with cleaning, cooking, and laundry when family comes. This is a second home so owners are not always on site.
- Putting up indoor and outdoor seasonal decorations as required and outdoor lights on various houses and outbuildings; taking decorations down and returning them to storage.
- Removing snow as necessary for houses and walking areas.
- Operating a tractor for baling hay and plowing snow seasonally.
- Handling maintenance and repairing for all of the facilities and machinery on property.
- Equipment and maintenance knowledge / mechanical, electrical aptitude
- Making suggestions and recommendations to owner regarding maintenance and enhancements to property/homes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements include:
- Experience with horses and operating a tractor.
- Work experience, cooking and household skills, handyman skills, and general maintenance skills.
- Must have good communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when family visits.
- Must possess basic computer skills. QuickBooks knowledge is preferred.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug test.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary. Private Caretaker Home on Property is provided.
