Cattle Manager / Ranch Hand
We are a multi-generational Christian family owned & operated Registered Brangus Breeder & Commercial Cow/Calf Ranch in East Texas in Van Zandt County running 350 head and expanding. We transfer about 150 embryos each year and use progressive methods. We also have Hay Production and Dirt Services businesses. This job involves all aspects of the ranch, BUT is FOCUSED on CATTLE. It is a side-by-side with the owner job, not an absentee owner.
The right person will have a major role in our cattle operation.
Qualifications of the correct candidate:
- Honest, Accountable, Clean, Organized, Non-Smoker, Dependable
- Cattle Experience – Health, Doctoring, Feeding, Mineral Supplements, Nutrition, Calving, Calf-Pulling, Gentle Handling
- Knowledge of IVF Collection, Recip Preparation, Brangus & Angus
- Bull Growth Program
- Horseback Experience, but not daily requirement
- Fence Repair
- Welding Experience
- Basis Mechanical Skills
- Ability to operate Tractors & Hay Equipment
- Detailed Record Keeping
- Clean Driving Record
Salary dependent of experience. $40K & up.
